A cellist plays solo, hence alone on stage. The performace notes read: “Ever so free, downright anchorless.” The performers only companion on stage is the human being on or behind the vinyl disc. This person, present and absent, invisible but audible, is engraved in vinyl and still has no body. You can hear him sitting and waiting; and – after quite some time – playing.
